  • · Total anual = total mensual × 12.
  • · Tarifa efectiva = factura mensual total ÷ kWh.

Preguntas frecuentes

How do I calculate my monthly electricity bill from kWh?

Bill = energy charge (kWh x tariff) + demand charge (peak kW x rate) + fixed charges. At $0.12/kWh, 10,000 kWh costs $1,200 in energy, plus a demand charge of $5-15/kW for the peak. The calculator handles flat and time-of-use tariffs and demand charges.

What is a demand charge and how does it affect my bill?

A demand charge bills the highest 15-30 minute average power (kW) drawn during the billing period, rewarding a flat load profile. A single 200 kW peak can add $1,000-3,000/month at $5-15/kW. Load shifting and storage reduce it. The calculator includes demand charges in the monthly and annual estimate.

What is time-of-use (TOU) pricing?

Time-of-use pricing charges different rates by time of day — higher during peak hours (e.g. 4-9 pm) and lower off-peak. Peak rates are often 2-3x off-peak. Shifting flexible load to off-peak cuts the bill 10-30%. The calculator applies peak/off-peak rates to your usage split.

How much does a 100 kW load cost per month?

A continuous 100 kW load uses 72,000 kWh/month. At $0.12/kWh that is $8,640 in energy, plus a demand charge (100 kW x $5-15 = $500-1,500), totaling roughly $9,100-10,100/month. The calculator computes this from your load, tariff and demand rate.

How can I reduce my electricity bill?

Three levers: cut consumption (efficiency, power-factor correction), shift load off-peak (time-of-use), and shave the demand peak (storage, load scheduling). Power-factor correction alone can remove a penalty of 0.5-3% of the bill. The calculator's cost model shows where each lever saves.
