Project Overview
For a commercial complex project in the Philippines, QDTB supplied 8 sets of ZBW-1600/10kV prefabricated substations together with 36 sets of 10kV ring main units.
Because the substations were fully assembled and tested in the factory, the project could move from delivery to energization much faster than a conventional site-built substation.
Delivered Equipment
Each ZBW-1600/10kV unit integrates the transformer, high-voltage and low-voltage compartments, and auxiliary systems into a single weatherproof enclosure, ready to be placed on a prepared foundation.
The 36 ring main units provide the loop switching capability needed for reliable power distribution around the complex.
- 8 × ZBW-1600/10kV prefabricated substations
- 36 × 10kV ring main units
- Integrated HV / LV compartments and auxiliary systems
- Factory-assembled and fully tested before shipment
Why Prefabricated Substations
Prefabricated (box-type) substations move most of the assembly and testing work from the site into the factory, where conditions are controlled and quality is easier to verify.
For a commercial complex with limited construction time, this approach removes weeks of on-site civil and electrical installation work.
- Factory assembly & testing before shipment
- Compact footprint for constrained urban sites
- Weatherproof enclosure for outdoor installation
- Minimal on-site civil and electrical work
Quality & Testing
Every prefabricated substation completed full factory routine tests before dispatch, including dielectric and functional checks of the integrated equipment.
Pre-shipment inspection was carried out against the agreed technical documentation, with complete test reports delivered with the shipment.
Project Outcome
The factory-assembled approach reduced on-site installation time by 70%, allowing the commercial complex to be energized significantly faster than with conventional site-built substations.
