DC Cables, Connectors & SPD
3 Product Series · 8 Models available
The DC side of a PV plant is only as reliable as the cables, connectors and surge protection that carry its current. QDTB supplies the complete DC balance-of-system — double-insulated PV1-F cables rated to 1500 V DC, weatherproof MC4-compatible connectors, and Type 2 surge protective devices for the array and inverter. Cable cross-sections are sized to the string current and voltage drop, connectors are IP68-rated against moisture and dust, and SPDs clamp lightning and switching surges before they reach the inverter. Selecting these three components as a matched set avoids the compatibility and derating failures that plague mixed-brand installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose PV1-F cable over ordinary wire?
PV1-F is double-insulated, UV-resistant and rated for 1500 V DC continuous outdoor use, unlike general building wire.
What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 SPDs?
Type 1 handles direct lightning strikes at the service entrance; Type 2 clamps induced surges at distribution points such as the array and inverter.
Are the connectors compatible with standard MC4?
Yes, our connectors follow the MC4 interface and mate reliably with standard PV connectors.
How do I size the DC cable?
The cross-section must keep voltage drop within about 1–2 % at the string's maximum current, accounting for cable length and ambient temperature.
Where should surge protection be installed?
At the DC array combiner and at the inverter DC input, plus AC-side SPDs at the point of grid connection.
