Project Overview
In 2024, QDTB supplied and exported 52 sets of distribution transformers to customers in Vietnam and Indonesia through a coordinated batch program. Both markets operate under demanding tropical conditions — high ambient temperature, high humidity and frequent thunderstorms — so the entire batch was engineered around climate resilience from the specification stage.
The project covered the complete cycle from custom manufacturing and factory testing to export packing, container loading and customs clearance, with every unit tracked to the port.
Delivered Equipment
52 sets of oil-immersed distribution transformers spanning 10kV to 35kV and 50 to 1,600 kVA, including 15 sets of 35kV-class models for higher-capacity rural and industrial feeders.
Voltage taps and connection groups were configured per the local grid requirements of each destination, and all units were supplied complete with their standard accessories.
- 10kV–35kV, 50–1,600 kVA oil-immersed design
- 15 sets of 35kV-class models
- Configured tap ranges and vector groups for local grids
- Complete standard accessory sets shipped with each unit
Engineering & Climate Adaptation
For tropical service, the batch incorporated increased insulation margins and sealed-tank construction to resist moisture ingress during monsoon exposure, together with corrosion-resistant finishing for coastal and high-humidity sites.
Cooling margins were reviewed against the high ambient temperatures of Vietnam and Indonesia so that the units keep stable temperature rise under continuous summer loading.
- Increased creepage distances for high-humidity insulation
- Moisture-resistant bushings and sealed tank design
- Corrosion-resistant paint system for coastal service
- Cooling margins sized for high ambient temperature
Quality Assurance
Every unit passed full factory routine tests in accordance with IEC 60076, covering ratio, winding resistance, insulation, load loss, no-load loss and temperature rise. Test reports were issued for each unit before loading.
The program followed the ISO 9001 quality system in place at the Qingdao plant.
Export Logistics & Delivery
All 52 units were shipped on an FOB Qingdao basis with complete export documentation. Custom export packing and shock-absorbing container fixtures were used to protect the equipment during ocean transit.
Customs clearance was handled as part of the supply scope, and the batch left on schedule to meet the seasonal installation windows of both markets.
- FOB Qingdao, complete export documentation
- Heavy-duty export packing with shock-absorbing fixtures
- Full export logistics & customs clearance included
Project Outcome
All 52 units were delivered and cleared on schedule, and the batch established a repeatable export pipeline for distribution transformer programs across Southeast Asia.
