How It Works

Stainless fasteners hold the mounting structure, trays and equipment together against wind, vibration and decades of weather. A2/A4-grade stainless resists the corrosion that would seize or rust ordinary steel hardware in outdoor and coastal environments, keeping every joint serviceable for the life of the plant.

Structure & Composition

The fastener range covers bolts, nuts, washers and self-tapping screws in A2 and A4 stainless, with matching threads for the rails, trays and equipment they fix. A4 (molybdenum-bearing) stainless is specified for coastal and high-chloride environments where A2 would pit, and the hardware is supplied in the full size range for the structure.

Selection Guide

  • Choose A4 stainless for coastal and high-chloride sites; A2 suffices for general outdoor use.
  • Match the fastener size and thread to the rails, trays and equipment it will fix.
  • Use nylon or stainless washers where dissimilar metals meet to prevent galvanic corrosion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

A2 or A4 stainless?

A2 suits general outdoor use; A4 (molybdenum-bearing) resists pitting in coastal and high-chloride environments.

Q

Why stainless for PV structures?

It resists the corrosion that would seize or rust ordinary hardware over the plant's 25-year life.

Q

What prevents galvanic corrosion?

Use insulating or stainless washers where stainless meets aluminium, breaking the dissimilar-metal couple.
