⚙How It Works
The grounding system bonds every frame, array and piece of equipment to a low-impedance earth, so lightning and fault current are safely dissipated instead of seeking a path through the equipment or a person. A low earth resistance is the single most important safety parameter of the installation, and it protects the inverter and electronics from surge damage.
▦Structure & Composition
The grounding system uses flat or round steel conductors, copper-bonded earth rods and clamps that bond module frames, racks, trays and equipment together into one equipotential grid. Rods are driven to the required depth to reach the target earth resistance, and every bond is mechanical and corrosion-protected for the plant's life.

Applications
Selection Guide
- Bond every module frame and rack to the common earth to prevent potential differences and lightning damage.
- Size the conductor and rods to clear the worst-case fault current and reach the target earth resistance.
- Use copper-bonded rods and stainless clamps for low resistance and corrosion protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is grounding critical?
A low-impedance earth dissipates lightning and fault current, protects against electric shock and prevents damage to inverters and electronics.
What earth resistance should I target?
Typically below 10 Ω, and often lower for sensitive sites — the applicable code and equipment set the requirement.
Do module frames need bonding?
Yes — bonding frames and racks into one equipotential grid prevents dangerous potential differences and lightning damage.
