⚙How It Works
A low-voltage LiFePO4 battery stores energy chemically and releases it on demand at 48/51.2 V. The LFP cathode is chosen for its thermal stability and flat discharge curve: it tolerates deep cycling without the thermal runaway risk of nickel-based cells, and its voltage stays nearly flat until nearly empty, simplifying inverter control. An integrated BMS monitors every cell and protects the pack across its entire life.
▦Structure & Composition
The ESS-LV module packs prismatic LiFePO4 cells into a wall- or rack-mount steel enclosure, wired as 16 series cells for a 51.2 V nominal string. Each module carries its own BMS board — cell-voltage and temperature taps, a contactor and current sensor — plus CAN/RS485 ports to the inverter. Modules parallel together for extra capacity, and the BMS coordinates state of charge across the stack.

Applications
Selection Guide
- Residential and light commercial storage of 5–15 kWh where wall or rack mounting fits the space.
- Add modules in parallel to grow capacity in steps of the base unit's kWh rating.
- Keep charge/discharge within the rated C-rate and DoD to preserve the 6000-cycle design life.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why LiFePO4 over NMC?
Lithium iron phosphate is thermally stable with a flat discharge curve and longer cycle life — the safer, longer-lived choice for stationary storage.
How do I expand capacity?
Parallel additional modules; the BMS coordinates them so the bank behaves as one larger battery.
What is the usable depth of discharge?
Up to 90 % of rated capacity is usable per cycle, which is why fewer kWh of LFP goes further than lead-acid or lower-DoD chemistries.
