⚙How It Works
Cluster-level suppression contains an event that escapes the module, protecting the neighbouring packs in a rack or cabinet. Agent is injected into the cluster enclosure to flood the space around the packs, cooling them and depriving the fire of propagation paths. It is the middle layer of a defence-in-depth strategy that starts with PACK-level point injection and ends with room-level total flooding.
▦Structure & Composition
A cluster-level system runs a perfluorohexanone cylinder and a distribution manifold to nozzles placed inside the rack or cabinet. Early-warning detectors at the cluster level trigger the controller, which interlocks the BMS and releases agent into the enclosure. Zoned valves allow multiple clusters to share one cylinder bank while discharging only into the affected zone.

Applications
Selection Guide
- Battery racks and cluster cabinets that already have PACK-level detection and need a second layer.
- Zone the system so a discharge is confined to the affected cluster, preserving the rest of the plant.
- Size the cylinder bank to the enclosure volume and the design concentration of the agent.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does cluster-level differ from PACK-level?
PACK-level injects inside the module; cluster-level floods the enclosure around the packs to stop propagation between modules.
Can multiple clusters share one cylinder?
Yes — zoned valves direct the discharge into only the affected cluster while other zones stay armed.
Why layer the protection?
No single layer is perfect; PACK-level is fastest, cluster-level contains, and room-level is the final flood barrier.
