Selection Guide

1

Rating

Size the busway current to the connected load with derating for ambient and enclosure.

2

Conductor

Choose copper for higher conductivity or aluminum for lower cost.

3

Protection

Specify IP54 or higher for dusty or humid installations.

- Frequently Asked Questions

What is dense busway?

Dense (sandwich) busway is a compact busbar system where phase conductors are tightly stacked with thin insulation, giving low impedance and low voltage drop for high-current distribution.

How is busway tapped for loads?

Plug-in tap-off units insert at intervals along the run, allowing loads to be added or moved without de-energizing the main bus.

What current range is typical?

250–6300 A for low-voltage distribution, with higher ratings available for special applications.
