Faraday Shield
An electrostatic shield between transformer windings blocking capacitive coupling of high-frequency noise.
A Faraday shield is a conductive barrier (copper foil/tape) between primary and secondary windings connected to ground, blocking capacitive coupling of high-frequency noise and transients.
Without it, HF disturbances pass through inter-winding capacitance affecting sensitive equipment. Shield provides 40-80 dB common-mode attenuation.
Essential for: isolation transformers, medical-grade, UPS transformers, harmonic filtering. Important in hospitals and data centers.
