Oil Preservation System
Equipment preventing moisture and oxygen from entering transformer oil, including conservators and sealed tanks.
An oil preservation system prevents degradation by isolating oil from moisture and oxygen. Contact with air causes moisture absorption (reducing dielectric strength) and oxidation (acids, sludge).
Methods: Diaphragm conservator (flexible bladder—most common); Nitrogen blanket (dry N2 positive pressure); Sealed/hermetic (flexible tank walls, common for distribution transformers).
Effective preservation extends oil/insulation life, reducing maintenance and DGA concerns.
QDTB equips all oil-immersed transformers with effective systems—diaphragm conservators for power, hermetic for distribution.
