Busbar

Components & Accessories

A metallic strip conducting electricity within switchgear, transformers, and distribution equipment.

A busbar is a metallic conductor (copper or aluminum) serving as junction for multiple circuits within transformers, switchgear, and distribution equipment.

In transformer applications, busbars connect winding terminals to external circuits. Cross-sectional area determined by current rating with standard densities of 2-4 A/mm2 for copper.

In three-phase systems, busbars minimize electromagnetic forces during short-circuit and reduce eddy current losses.

QDTB designs optimized busbar systems using high-conductivity materials. Our low voltage switchgear features optimized busbar designs.
