EMF (Electromotive Force)
The voltage generated by electromagnetic induction in a transformer winding, proportional to flux change and turns.
EMF is the voltage induced in each winding by alternating magnetic flux. Per Faraday's law: E = 4.44 x f x N x Fm (frequency x turns x max flux).
In ideal transformer, primary EMF = applied voltage, secondary EMF = output. Ratio equals turns ratio. EMF per turn: 1-3 V for distribution, 2-5 V for power transformers.
