Generator Step-Up Transformer (GSU)
A large power transformer stepping up generator voltage (11-25 kV) to transmission levels for grid connection.
A GSU transformer is a large power transformer connecting generators to the transmission grid, stepping up from 11-25 kV to 110-765 kV.
Among the most critical plant components, typically 50-1,000+ MVA. Must handle generator harmonics, negative sequence currents, and overexcitation during load rejection.
QDTB manufactures GSU transformers up to 500 MVA for thermal, hydro, and wind power plants. Our renewable energy solutions include complete GSU packages.
